General Product Care
Product Care
Taking proper care of your Darker Apparel pieces keeps them performing longer and looking sharp through every session. Follow these guidelines to protect fabric integrity, fit and colour while keeping things sustainable.
Read the Care Label First
Every garment is built differently and the care label tells you exactly what it needs. Always check it before washing or drying to avoid damaging fibres, prints or technical materials.
Wash Inside Out
Turning your clothing inside out allows the areas that collect the most sweat and bacteria to be cleaned properly. This also helps protect external surfaces, logos, and finishes from unnecessary abrasion.
Use Cold or Low-Temperature Washes
High heat breaks down fibres faster and wastes energy. Wash at 30°C or below whenever possible to preserve elasticity, maintain colour depth and reduce environmental impact.
Skip the Tumble Dryer
Tumble drying weakens stretch materials, cracks printed graphics and can shrink garments. For the longest lifespan, air dry only. Lay flat or hang dry away from direct sunlight.
Be Gentle With Accessories
Bottles, shakers and similar accessories should be hand-washed with cool water only. Hot water or dishwashers can distort shape and damage seals.
Avoid Fabric Softeners & Bleach
Softeners can clog performance fabrics and reduce moisture-wicking ability. Bleach will damage fibres and fade colour. Stick to mild detergents only.
Wash Similar Colours Together
Dark neutrals can transfer dye during the first few washes. Keep similar shades together to maintain the clean, moody aesthetic your pieces are designed for.
Let Your Gear Rest
If you’ve trained hard, give your clothing time to air out before tossing it in the laundry basket. This helps prevent odour buildup and improves long-term freshness.
